Inspired by Songs!

I'm finally able to share with you my ATCs for a swap back in May! The theme was 'Inspired by a Song.' I used 3 gorgeous images by the wonderful Mo Manning....her work is just adorable, there's something about them that draws me in....

It was actually really hard to decide which songs to go for, there are soooooooooo many!! Can you guess what they are?
#1 - Great Balls of Fire! (Hey, Good Lookin')

#2 - There's a Hole in my Bucket....

#3 - Summertime...and the Living is Easy.

All images are coloured with Promarkers. I kept everything simple, a BP, a title and a couple of gems for each one.

I'm going to enter a couple of challenges with my ATCs...
Thanks for looking!

Christmas...........in JUNE...!?!?!?!

Yes folks, we are having a Christmas in June challenge over at FOR FUN this week!! I must say, I struggle to get my head around Christmas at this time of year, especially when all I am thinking about is whether we'll get some warmth or sun, cos you kinda expect it at this time of year don't you?! Of course the British weather is none too predictable, so each day is a surprise waiting to happen!

Luckily, we have one of my all-time favourite sponsors this week.....it's Michelle Perkett....YAY!
I just LOVE her images, and we were so lucky to get the chance to work with them this week; I have been so busy of late, I haven't had time to enter Michelle's weekly challenge which I have been so disappointed about, so this has helped make up for that! Here's my card:
It's a teepee card! I thought it was the perfect shape for a christmas tree! The wonderful image is of course one of Michelle's and is called Christmas Blessings. You can find her and loads of other gorgeous images in Michelle's Etsy shop.

As the card is 3-sided I printed and coloured the image 3 times, one for each side. I gave each one different coloured hair.
The DPs are Dovecraft from my stash....bought when I first started cardmaking, so I am being a good girl and using up some of my old stash!!!
I made a sentiment for each side too, they read 'Blessings,' 'Joy,' and 'Faith.' I added a few gems to finish the card....I wanted to keep it fairly CAS.
I was asked if it is possible to post these cards, and the answer is....YES! You can use either a velcro 'dot' to fasten it or a ribbon which can be untied so that it will fold flat to fit into an envelope :)
Don't forget to go over to the FOR FUN BLOG and check out the rest of the DT samples.....and of course they would be thrilled if you had time to leave them some love too!

Going Bright & Bold!

Good Morning and welcome to my wee corner of blogland!

This week at THE CRAFTY PAD we have a new challenge.....we want to see either
BOLD & BRIGHT colours on your projects OR........PASTELS
So there really is no excuse for not joining in is there! Lol!

Our sponsor this week is Crafty Emma
With this fab prize:

A set of Dovecraft Sugar & Spice clear stamps!

The DT have all worked with some of the lovely Bradley images, available from The Crafty Pad Designs. Here's my card:
I chose Bradley with Football (currently just 59p for a limited time only!) and created a winner's trophy card! I found an image of a trophy and created a template. I made the card from gold mirri-card, and went for the bold/bright option.

The image was coloured with Promarkers & cut out. The DP I had in my stash and was mounted onto  red card then attached to the front. I also added a couple of small pieces of DP for detail.

I tied some red, white and blue ric-rac ribbon to the handles, and added a small #1 sentiment (hand-drawn.)

The rest of the DT have once again excelled themselves, so don't forget to visit them and leave some love!

I will enter a couple of challenges with my card:
Thanks for popping by.

Wedded Bliss for my lil' Sis!

Oops! Forgot to share the wedding card I made for my lil' sis' wedding (which was 11th June!) I was just clearing my memory card down, and realised I hadn't blogged the wedding card, so here it is!

The wedding colours were silver and plum/burgundy, and this was the closest I could manage. It's a 6"x6" scalloped card blank easel card.
The image is from Bugaboo, and is called Kid's View Our Wedding, (love these, so cute!) and is coloured with Promarkers.

The stopper/base panel was made on the computer, using 2 circle sentiments from Crafts 4U and I added their names and the date of the wedding. The ink smudged a bit when I inked up the edges, but I think I managed to get away with it............?! I added some gems, flourishes and a beautiful handmade flower courtesy of my fellow DT member at The Crafty Pad.....the lovely Ms Leesa!

The DP is actually a Doodlebug Xmas one, (although being blue and purple striped, you'd never know!) I did lots of cutting (guillotine and nesties,) matting and layering, added a ribbon & bow, some square gems and 2 pearl pins.

Not a hugely traditional wedding card, but one I'm sure they will appreciate :)

I guess I should offer it up to a couple of challenges:

Cookin' Up a Card!

It's RECIPE time at FOR FUN this week! We have the fabulous TLC Creations as our sponsor this week, and the DT got to work with some of their gorgeous images.

So, here's the recipe you nedd to get cookin' up your creations this week:
  • 1 image
  • 1 sentiment
  • 2 colours
  • 2 ribbons

My card is an acetate tent card, one of my faves at the moment! The image was a dream to colour (I used Promarkers) then highlighted with some Stickles. The sentiment comes as part of the image, and reads 'Flowers feed the Soul.' The DPs are from my stash, I THINK they are Dovecraft, but can't be 100% sure. I chose brown and reddish/pink as my 2 colours, and that leaves my 2 ribbons, which you can find behind the image on the back of the acetate tent, one reddish/pink, 1 brown; (they are lace-ribbon.) The papers have been border-punched using a Martha Stewart border punch. I cut a flower from the leftover DP and attached to the back panel of acetate, on the inside. The image has been matted onto co-ordinating paper, and I then finished it off with some flat-backed heart pearls.

I am entering the following challenges:
Don't forget to pop over and leave some love for the DT girls at FOR FUN, and of course, get your pinnies on and start baking!!!!! I look forward to visiting your blogs to see your creations!

My Hero!

Finally made it here to share the card I made for my littlies to give to Daddy!

The image is a Dustin Pike freebie, coloured with Promarkers. My DPs are MME Stella & Rose (I love them!) I used black card to mat and layer the DPs and image, and I reckon it really makes it 'pop!'

I cut around the sword rather than include it in the main panel as I didn't want too much 'white' background. The font is Sunshine Poppy (thanks to my friend Dawn for flagging that one up....I love it!)

Some card candy dots and that's it!

A few challenges I'd like to enter:
See you again tomorrow with a brand new challenge at For Fun! Thanks for looking.

Something New @ The Crafty Pad

Good Morning bloggin' buddies!

This morning it's a new challenge at THE CRAFTY PAD  and the theme is
SOMETHING NEW
It could be a creation for a new baby, a new home, or perhaps a wedding card, for the start of a new life together.....or something else!
Our sponsor this week is NOT a new sponsor, but is one of our old friends....JOANNA SHEEN with her generous prize of a £10 to spend in her online store.

The DT have used images from THE CRAFTY PAD DESIGNS, and so without further ado, here's my card.

I've made a double diamond card for a new baby, well, actually, 2 new babies....it's a card for TWINS! I used the Rocking Horse image which I flipped to make a mirror image, one for each side of the double diamond, and the Twins sentiment.

I coloured my images with Promarkers and cut them out added a small gem . My DP is a digi from a collection called Pink Boudoir; I thought the pink candy stripes suited the theme of my card.

I coloured the senti with Promarkers and cut it out, then used a scalloped nestie to cut out a mat to layer it onto. I added tiny pearls and gems to bling it up! I edged the card using silver peel-offs and added a pink bow to complete.

The rest of the DT have once again made some amazing cards, so please take a look and leave them some lurve! We always look forward to seeing your creations and visiting your blogs.

NEW RELEASES
As well as a new challenge, we also have 2 new digis released in the shop.....here's a sneak peek at the oh-so-cute Polly digis:

Polly with Flower

Polly with Poodle

Oh I'm SUCH a Clutz!!!

I was really disappointed not to receive any comments from the challenges I entered with my Father's Day corner bookmark card, until I had a nasty thought, which turned out to be true!....When I went back and checked, I HAD listed the challenges I wanted to enter, but must've got side-tracked and HADN'T actually entered my card into ANY of them!!! :( :( :( Can't tell you how disappointed I was, as I was really rather chuffed with my creation!

Oh well, that'll teach me........DON'T do it again!!

Night night! :)

(PS. If you fancy checking out my card, there's a link to it HERE.)

Oh Dad, You're Such a Card!!!!

Just sharing the card I made for my FIL for Father's Day. I'm itching to make a 'proper' card, but at the moment I seem to be chasing my tail, so I had to use another quick decoupage sheet.

I began with a square base card, and matted the BP onto red card. I cut 2 card label-nesties in red and black, and decoupaged the fan of playing cards using several layers.....I have tried to take a couple of pics to show you the effect....(see later pics in this post.) I mounted them on the card, and added a few red & black gems and a ribbon. I cut out 2 spades images and also used those to decorate. The senti came with the decoupage sheet.

 Inside the card.

 Decoupaged layers.

I think the layers are quite effective....

So there it is, my FIL's card, which my DH asked me to keep simple (he's not a fan of 'fussy' or sentimental cards!!!)

Thanks for looking!

Summertime at FOR FUN!

Yes folks, we want to celebrate the fact that we are finally seeing some sunshine! Our theme this week is an either/or/or both! challenge; we want to see SUMMERTIME FUN with bright colours, especially pink, blue, green, yellow and purple!

Our sponsor this week is the sassy Nana Vic who has given us this fabby prize for one lucky winner.

Here's my DT card:

If I am honest, I struggled with this one! I found the array of different colours trickier to work with, but we all need to work outside our comfort zone every once in a while to develop so I'm not complaining.

The image is of course one of Nana Vic's and I've used a quote from Mae West as my senti ; 'You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough!' My DPs I've had for ages, are Dovecraft Glamour Prints, and I've hardly used them (probably because of the colour combo!) I added a few pearls and gems and the beautiful purple flower (top left) was made for me by the lovely Ms Leesa (aka The Navy Wife,) a fellow DT member over at THE CRAFTY PAD.

I used a 6"x6" scalloped card base and matted/layered on various coloured cardstock.

I do hope you will join us this week for our SUMMERTIME challenge, its always great to see your creations, especially when its such a fun theme!

Just Because You Can.....

That's the theme for this week's challenge at THE CRAFTY PAD and we are loving it! We want you to make a card for someone 'JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN' and NOT for a specific occasion. Sooooo folks, that means we DON'T want to see birthday cards, cards for anniversaries, or get well, no good luck or congratulations, this ISN'T an anything goes challenge, it MUST be a 'just because' card!

Our sponsor this week is Creative Craft World

And the lucky winner will receive a £10.00 voucher to spend in their online shop.
The DT all had the same digi to work with this week, but you won't BELIEVE how different all the creations are!!! (If you don't believe me, just pop over to the challenge blog and see for yourself!) We used Roshell Ducky & Eggward, the very cute ducks which you can find HERE.
Here's my card (FINALLY I hear you cry!)
As you can see, I have made an acetate tent card, and I am really pleased with the overall effect!
My image is coloured with Promarkers and cut out/mounted using nesties.
The DPs are Dovecraft Sugar & Spice, and I have cut a fancy border using my MS border punch.
I added a co-ordinating butterfly (craft tonic) some lace and buttons and a couple of gems.
Through the centre view!

The senti ticket I have used is PERFECT for this week's challenge, it says 'Just Because' and I added a tiny frond of ric rac to complete.

We REALLY hope to see lots of you joining us this week!

A Couple of Quickies....ooo-er!!!

Just a quick post to share two quickie-cards that were needed in a hurry....one for my FIL (whoops!) and one for a little boy at the Opportunity Group. What with a BH and half term last week, I'm still playing catch-up, and these got left until the last minute, so I went with a quick downloadable card front for FIL from CardMaking Downloads.

I added a flourish of tiny gems to the left hand panel.

The decoupage layers are built up using foam pads.

I also inked the edges of the layers on the decoupage to finish it off.

And for the 2nd card, I used an image from another CMD download.....a fireman!

I used a 6"x6" scalloped card, added a layer of red card, and the DP which is MME Mabel papers from the Stella & rose collection. I then used foam pads to fix the image. The 'Happy Birthday' is a sticker, the name and number are glitteration peel-offs and I finished off with a couple of black card-corners, card candy and buttons. Whoops, just noticed that the button from the top RH side corner is missing!

Don't forget to pop over to CMD and look around, there are 1000s of fab downloads at really good prices, and there's something for all tastes and styles (not on commission btw, just like to share a good site!)

Thanks for looking.
