Things With Wings

Good Morning everyone, and a warm welcome to my blog.

Today sees another new challenge over at The Crafty Pad, and this week the lovely Debbi from the DT has chosen the theme, which is #181:

THINGS WITH WINGS

Our sponsor this week is the lovely Joanna Sheen with a £10 online voucher.

There is fabby array of creations over at the challenge blog, and not just cards either, so be sure to take a peek at Team B's creations.

I have used the adorable Dilbert the dragon for my card, and if you love him as much as I do, you'll be pleased to know there are several Dilbert images available....just click HERE to see them.

My card is for my nephew who turned 16 on Friday: The sentiment was created on the computer.

I used a digi paper pack from The Crafty Pad Designs to paper-piece Dilbert and for the backing too, a fab set called Mint & Cream Delight (along with one of the papers from another set called Strawberry Sundae Delight.) There are several really versatile digi paper packs availabe, so click HERE to take a look.

I added a panel of Magic-Mesh, with a punched border over the top, and a red grosgrain ribbon over the top of that!! Some card candi dots coloured with Promarkers. I finished by adding some faux stitching in black and white gel pens to the layers.

Finally, I decorated the inside to match (mainly using the leftover pieces of paper.)

We would love for you to join in with our challenge this week, and look forward to visiting your blogs.
Please check back at The Crafty Pad on Thursday to find out the winner and top 5 from our 'interactive' challenge.

What's Going on at THE CRAFTY PAD?

Good Morning peeps!

Well, what glorious weather we've finally got here in the UK, it's been a long time coming, let's hope it stays out to play for a while so our littlies can make the most of their summer break.

I'm here to share a card I made using some fab items from
I've made a card for a man for a change...

It's a 5x7 fold-back card. I used a pre-coloured image called Bowling, it's a Strike! and a set of digital papers called Strawberry Sundae Delight.

I simply matted and layered with black card, and here's a very quick card!

The sentiment was also created by our fabby boss Debbie Moore and I teamed it with another one I made on the computer, saying 'You'll Bowl Them Over!'

Don't forget our current challenge over at

 #180 INTERACTIVE...

Make it move, pop-up, spin, waterfall, anyway you want, just make it move !! Pop over to get deets and check out the fab inspiration by the A Team!

Enjoy the sunshine, see you soon!

Paper Piecing at The Crafty Pad

Firstly, my apologies for being absent for so long (again!) and a HUGE THANK YOU to my lovely Crafty Pad teamies Leesa and Dawn who have helped me out of a pickle this week, they really are so thoughtful and I owe them one! ;)

This week's new challenge at The Crafty Pad has been chosen by 'moi!' It's one of my favourite techniques, and that's challenge #179

PAPER PIECING

(Not to be confused with paper piercing!)

Our fab sponsor this week is

Meiflower

with a £20 voucher to spend in their store for one lucky winner, chosen at random from our entries this week!

I won't bore you with details, but things have gone a bit messed up for me in the last couple of weeks and one of the consequences has been that my mojo has gone on extended hols so I am really struggling with my lack of creative skills and am somewhat disappointed with todays meagre offering...anyway, with my apologies, here it is:

A simple rocker card made using the fabTCP LOLLY POP image which I paper-pieced using Pink Petticoat digital papers.

I added some tiny gems to the droplets featured on the green top layer, and kept it simple with a kraft cardbase and the watermelon DPs. I added some cheesecloth, lime green ric rac and a simple birthday sentiment to finish, and will add the finished card to my 'cards needed in a hurry' box.

The other DT girls on Team B have some wonderful inspiration for you on the challenge blog, so please pop over and join in the fun this week.

I will enter my card into the following challenges:

July New Release At The Crafty Pad

Good Moo-ning everyone,
I am here with exciting news of the brand new releases from The Crafty Pad. Our latest character to arrive at The Crafty Pad Designs is none other than Moorag the Cow! There are 4 different Moorag images, (available in coloured and non-coloured versions) and she has some adorable papers and sentiments to match!

Take a look at these previews.

This set comes with Uncoloured images
Sentiments Only

This set comes with Coloured images

Papers

Aren't they great! And as always, to celebrate our new releases we are giving you the chance to win the entire set! yes folks, that's EVERYTHING, coloured and non-coloured images, sentiments AND matching backing papers!!!

BUT.....before that, here's my card:
The flower is triple-layered and secured with a large spotty brad, (all Dovecraft.) The card candi dots have been coloured with the same promarkers as the image, and the brown gingham ribbon was from my stash.
Moorag has been coloured with Promarkers, and the edges were inked before matting onto brown Bazzill. I teamed the brown cowprint paper from the set with some blue gingham....I love the colour combo!
Inside the card has been decorated with the same papers.
The sentiment is from the set, and was perfect for my card, as I made it for my lovely DH, a 'just to let you know...' card, and those 3 little words said it all ;)

And FINALLY....

What do you have to do to be in with a chance? It's simple!

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and your name will go into the draw!
For a 2nd chance in the draw, be or become a follower of

It's Perfectly NATURAL !!

Goodness, I can't believe its been 2 weeks since my last blogpost, that NEVER happens...did you miss me?! Life has been VERY hectic these last couple of weeks,a nd still a couple more to go before our littlies break for the summer hols, so apologies in advance if I'm not around much for these next couple of weeks too.

Anyway, onto the REAL reason I'm here, and that's to let you all know about the latest challenge #177 at THE CRAFTY PAD. This week, the thesme has been chosen by our very lovely and talented Estelle, and that theme is.........

IT'S NATURAL

We want to see you use something NATURAL on your creations, be it dried flowers, sand, shells, feathers, twigs, dried leaves etc. And this week we are lucky to have TWO sponsors....

DIGITAL DOWNLOADS by L.R. Designs with £10.00 to spend in their online store

And Crafty Individuals with the following prize:
Prize consists of:
2 red rubber Postcard Stamps
1 pack 6x6 ' Travel in Italy' themed Backing Papers
1 sheet of A4 Glossy 'Tags' Toppers

And so, onto my card:

I have made an A5 card using one of THE CRAFTY PAD DESIGNS fab freebies available from the challenge blog.
My DPs are available from TCP shop, and are just one of several digital paper sets available: these are called Mint & Cream Delight. I used Kraft card for matting and kept the design simple.

As you can see, I created a frame for the image using SUNFLOWER SEEDS, which are my 'natural' element, and they are stuck with Pinflair. I coloured my image with Promarkers, cut it out and raised it with foam pads .

The sentiment I have used is from one of the sets at The Crafty Pad Designs Shop; click HERE to see all available sentiments.

I decorated the inside to match. On the main cardfront, I also added 2 punched MS borders and some natural jute twine, which I knotted at each end and stitched onto the card.

I do hope you will join us this week for our challenge, please take a moment to check out the DT inspiration on the challenge blog...It's Team B this week with some seriously top notch samples.
