A New Home

A friend moved into her new home on Monday....it's been quite a year, including a divorce and her first independent house purchase and I wanted to make her a card to mark the occasion. As luck would (or not) have it, only my black ink is working in my printer, so I was quite restricted as to what I could use. But not to be defeated, here's what I came up with.
It's a digi stamp coloured with Promarkers and a computer generated sentiment, using Segoe script font.
The papers were a freebie with the Making Cards magazine a few months back; they are called the Nancy Watt Classic Collection, and have little butterflies randomly printed all over. They are matted onto co-ordinating cardstock from my stash. I finished it off with an organza ribbon, a butterfly punch and some pearl gems.
I made a simple matching insert with inked edges.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Create4fun Challenge #41 ~ use a digi stamp
Ellephantastic Challenge #15 ~ Anything Goes!
One Stich At A Time #34 ~ Use Your Digi Stamps
Anything Goes challenge #20 ~ Ribbons
Cute Card Thursday #134 ~ What's Buggin' You (mine is a butterfly!)

Thanks for popping by, I'll be back tomorrow to share some fab ATC returns for a couple of swaps.

Yay! I won Crafty Blogocks Blog Candy!!

Well, you could've knocked me down with a feather! (....and if you've seen me, you'd know that would take some doing!!!) I was blog hopping through my my fave blogs when I saw my name as the winner of Paul's Halloween blog candy over at Crafty Blogocks! Me? A winner? Things like that never happen to me, but it did!!!  Now I can't wait to receive my goodies so I can make some little treat holders for my littlies to enjoy on Halloween.....THANKS PAUL!

Another Baby card!!

So, this morning I get another one of 'those' texts from my DH....NO, not THOSE texts, the 'oooh, can you rustle me up a baby girl card for someone at work?' texts!!! Well, I need no encouragement to abandon chores in favour of cardmaking, so I set to work in between the school runs and hanging out the washing.

I went for a pink BABY wordbook, tied together with various ribbons and funky fibres. Each page has a cute little picture on it, with one small element of decoupage.

The final page has space to write your message to the proud new parents. This was made using a download from Cardmaking Downloads and cost just 80p! It even comes with a matching envie too. You can view/buy it by clicking here.

I am entering this card into the Aud Sentiments Challenge #13 'Anything to do with a Baby.'
Oh, I forgot to say, the text also mentioned another card he needs for a couple of days time, so watch this space, I expect there'll be another post from me very soon!!!
Thanks for popping over......Big smiles, Ali x

Spyder's Didi Digi Challenge.....& MORE!!

Hi everyone, do we all have that 'Thank Crunchie it's Friday' feeling today, or is it just me??! Anyway, I've got a card for you today, a pop-out stepper card with the cutest little digi image, courtesy of Spyder at Dragonsmoore, Spyder's Other Corner. He is Hedgie the Hedgehog, and I couldn't wait to use him.....so, without further ado, here he is!
Adorable isn't he! I followed a sketch, by Sketch Saturday for the front panel, adding a few finishing touches of my own. The card is for my Niece, whose birthday is the same day as my Noah's.

Recipe:
Sketch: Sketch Saturday #123.
Pop out stepper template from Cardmaking Downloads.
Image: Hedgie by Spyder, you can buy him from Dragonsmoore. Hedgie has been coloured with Promarkers, and layered 3 times for depth.
Papers: Pink Petticoat, Little Swirls.
Sentiments: Computer generated using font 'Angelina.'
Flowers: Made by layering punchies made with my Woodware small and large flowers.
From my Stash: Funky Fibres (you can barely see them though,) gems, ink for edging, Card Candy.

...what do we do with those ATCs??

If you're like me, and love your ATCs, then you probably don't want to keep them in boxes where you can't see them, am I right? Well, another collector, Gina, has come up with a great idea, and if you click here it'll take you to her blog where you can find out what she's made to display hers on! Great idea, just wish I had the space to put mine!!

(Just thought I'd add a pic of someof my ATCs to liven up the post!!!)
Another idea, if like me you don't have a lot of crafty space, is to have them in an album....you can either use the trading card pockets (3x3 spaces per page,) or, as I've also done, wait until your son has finished collecting his Match Attax cards, and pinch his binder, which is the perfect size to store those ATCs in too!!

(Some more examples of my ATCs)

If anyone has any other ideas/suggestions, PLEASE leave me a comment, as I'm sure other people (and DEFINATELY me!) would love to hear/see what you do with yours!

Big smiles, from Ali x
