HAPPY BIRTHDAY POPS!

Hi again, Happy Friday....whoop whoop!!

As promised, here I am with the card I made for my Dad's Birthday....HAPPY BIRTHDAY Pops!

I bought this image a while ago, and have been saving it for dad's birthday....I couldn't resist it when I saw it over at Bugaboo!

The image is from the Gus Birthday set, called Recount, and has been coloured with Promarkers.

The BPs are digital, from a collection called FESTIVAL, and I used the journalling panels as mats for the image and the sentiment (which comes with the image, although I remade it using a different font.)

The 'd a d' were also from the kit, and are backed using digi buttons from the kit too.

All elements have been inked using an antique brown, and attached using foam pads for a 3D effect.

I finished it all off with some tiny square gems.

Grandad, You ROCK!!

Hi there everyone......it's nearly the weekend, Yay!!

Today I have a card to share with you that I made for my littlies to give to their Grandad, whose birthday is tomorrow. It was pretty quick and simple to make, and they loved it!

I printed a digi backing paper and the sentiment straight onto cardstock, then a rocker card template onto the reverse, and cut it out. The image is from a great collection called Country Hens (sorry I don't recall where I bought it,) and I cut 3 layers and decoupaged some of the elements. I chose this image as he is a very keen gardener, and we always eat fresh veggies from his garden when we visit, which my littlies sometimes help to dig up with him.....from the ground to our plates in a matter of minutes....you don't get fresher than that!!

I inked the edges and added some wire flowers to the main rocker and it was done!

I'll be back tomorrow with the card I made from DH and I for my dad's birthday.......Thanks for looking and Happy Crafting!

Is SPRING Really On It's Way............?

Good Morning to you, and its a bright, sunny, but chilly one here! The last couple of days have seen some brighter weather generally, and I for one am keeping EVERYTHING crossed that we are heading into some Springtime cheer!

This week at FOR FUN CHALLENGES we are lucky to be sponsored by SWEET n SASSY, so yes, there's a prize up for grabs! YAY!!

Our theme for the week is....

 ***  SPRING  ***

Soooooo easy, so no excuses, get creative and join in! We want to see anything/everything SPRING and with a bit of luck, it might just work and banish the snow, frost and wind, and make way for the weather we are all longing for!

So, I used an oh-so-cute Sweet n Sassy image to create this Spring, Spring-card!

The image has been coloured with Promarkers. I printed a spring-green polka dot digi DP straight onto card and cut, scored and folded into the Spring-Card shape. The flowers are from a Nitwits collection called Tiptoe Tulips and have been individually hand cut and used to make a border around the image.

Finally I added some green organza ribbon to the base of the card.

There are SO MANY challenges out there in blogland atm, so I would like to enter my card into the following:

We Wanna See RIBBONS at The Crafty Pad!

A warm welcome this Sunday afternoon (just!) I am here (hopefully! This is a scheduled post!) to share news of the latest challenge over at THE CRAFTY PAD and my card for the challenge too.

We were SOOOO lucky this week, and so are you! Yes, our fabby sponsor this week is none other than

....and the lucky winner will receive some of the latest wonderfully versatile SEAM BINDING RIBBON

So, as I was saying, we were really lucky this week as the DT were given some seam-binding to play with on our cards!!! So, here's what I came up with, using mine.

I have used a digi stamp from The Crafty Pad Stamp Designs, called A Dog's Life, (scroll down) coloured with Promarkers, with a few white gel pen highlights. The sentiment ticket (scroll down) is also a Crafty Pad one.

The seam binding I received to work with was brown and cream, which set the colour scheme for my card. I have used various cardstock and DPs in brown and cream tones, and some mulberry paper which I wet and tore to give a rustic feel. I added some footprints and of course the seam binding ribbons to complete.

So come on guys, get those ribbons out and get creating! You should also go and check out the wonderful Crafty Pad DT cards on the challenge blog too!

Football Friday!

My oldest son, Toby, was off to a friend's 11th birthday party today, and I have been so busy I'd forgotten to make the card....aarrgghh!!!! So, this afternoon, in between everything else that had to be done, I made a super-quick card, which turned out not half bad, even if I do say so myself!!!
The image was a freebie from a google search, and is coloured with Promarkers. I also added a number 11 to his shirt, as it was his 11th birthday!
I cut two layers using my labels nesties, the blue one from a Nitwits BP and the other from red cardstock. I then ran the red one through my Bigshot with a Happy Birthday embossing folder. The football BP was also a digi freebie which I've had for ages. The sentiment was made on the computer using the font Scruff LET. Edges were inked, a button added, and with a few foam pads and some DST, it was done!

It's Mardi Gras Party Time!!

Gooooooooooooooooooooood Morning everyone,

It's Wednesday, so halfway through the week.....Yay! Today I have a party-card to share with you. The challenge over at FOR FUN CHALLENGES this week is inspired by Mardi Gras, to use the colours
GREEN, PURPLE & GOLD
Here's my creation.....

I wanted to try and capture the fun party feel of Mardi Gras......hope I've done ok?!

The image is by the oh-so-talented Mo Manning, and is called ROSA . You can find her and so many other amazing digis in Mo's Digital Pencil store.

She is coloured with Promarkers and although I was a bit daunted by the thought of that initially, I really enjoyed colouring her and am pleased with the finished result!

I cut around the image and added some gold Stickles to give her a party feel too, before attaching her using foam pads.
The DPs are Pink Petticoat Little Swirls collection, and I have added some gems, ribbon, gold thread, funky fibres, a brad, a die-cut flourish a computer generated sentiment and some card candy to complete!

I would really like to enter my card into:
  •  I Love Promarkers challenge #55 this week, which is to use the colour combo GREEN & PURPLE (I hope its ok that I used gold too?!)
  •  Digis With Attitude! challenge #19 this week, which is 'Wishful Thinking!' Where do you wish you were right now? I can't think of anywhere better than celebrating Mardi Gras-style with those nearest and dearest to me, so that's where I'D like to be right now!
  • Creations by Gill M #2 - Mardi Gras!

Please pop over to the FOR FUN challenge blog and join the fun this week, and check out the other DT cards too....there's even a Mardi Gras mask to see too! And if you like what you see, don't forget to leave them a comment too.....we all know how good it feels to have your work admired and appreciated!

Thanks for Looking, and Happy Crafting folks!

Going GREEN!

Good Afternoon!

I have just spent a lovely morning with my 4 year old son at the Opportunity Group for children with Special Needs and their parents......we've been going for a couple of years now and have made some wonderful friends.

Onto today's card; a staggered stepper in monochromatic green. I haven't done many monochrome cards, and really enjoyed making this one, so I reckon I'll give it another try with different colours again quite soon.

The image is called Willow, the Autumn Fairy, and is by the fabulous Michelle Perkett.....you can find it in her store HERE. We were sponsored by her a few weeks ago at For Fun Challenges and I fell in love with her designs and went straight to her Etsy SHOP for a bit of retail therapy!!! Willow was one of the images I purchased! She has been coloured with Promarkers.

Don't you just love that sentiment!? I made some layered flowers using a Bosskut die I've had for ages, leaves with a punch and added some gems, ribbon and funky fibres for texture.

The papers I used are from a digi collection, (sorry, I can't remember the name of it.)

I am really pleased with my card, and would like to enter it into the following challenges this week:
